Unit Price Calculator

The package with the lower sticker price is not always the better deal — what matters is the price per unit. This calculator divides each package's price by its quantity to get a common per-unit figure, then flags the cheapest. Enter a few options in the same unit — ounces, pounds, square feet, linear feet, whatever fits — and it does the division and the comparison for you.

Say a `10 oz` bottle costs `$5.00` and a `32 oz` bottle costs `$12.00`. The small one is `5.00 ÷ 10 = $0.500` per ounce; the large one is `12.00 ÷ 32 = $0.375` per ounce. The bigger bottle wins, and by a clear margin. The key rule is to keep every row in the same unit so the per-unit numbers are truly comparable — if one item is priced by the pound and another by the ounce, convert them to a single unit first. Add up to four options and the lowest per-unit price is marked as the best value.
